We are going over the fiscal cliff and President Obama is giving almost all Federal employees an additional day off. Isn't that wonderful of Santa Barack?

Libs in particular like to scream about separation of church and state. I think if they were really serious about that the government would stay open on Christmas.

Finally the federal government follows all the other private companies and gives the day before Christmas. I was at work on the day after Thanksgiving with all the buildings open and hardly anyone there while all the civilian companie employees were fighting for the latest gadget. Government employees were working....but hardly anyone was around as they took leave. It is absurd to work the Friday after Thanksgiving, the day before Christmas and quite frankly New Year’s Eve....it actually saves money on electricity and heating....but government doesn’t care about saving money.

So what? Everybody would be using their leave or go in and do nearly nothing because nobody is around anyway. This is no different than defense contractors like Lockheed, Boeing, and Northrop Grumman using the Friday before Christmas to have a big company Christmas party while they’re all on the clock being paid with defense contract money (yes, taxpayer money).

Wait, that would be an official recognition of a religious event.

Make ‘em work you hypocrites.

In fact, keep Congress, the Senate, and the President on the job. These aren’t holy days. What’s wrong with you folks?

If we can’t pray in schools, you can’t take religious holidays off.

We would be better off if he had given all of them the entire YEAR off. They could have caused less damage to the American people if they weren’t there.

The Executive branch allows either the eve off or they permit an hour of compensated personal leave on the eve of most federal holidays. It’s been that way as long as I can remember and my federal service goes back to the early 90s.
