A young mother was senselessly murdered by three teens in western Pennsylvania after she told them to get a job and stop roaming the streets when they asked her fiancée for a cigarette, police say.
Beaver Falls police have charged 14-year-olds Todavia Cleckley and Marcus Velasquez and 13-year-old Kyle Goosby Jr. with criminal homicide and other charges in Saturdays shooting of 22-year-old Kayla Peterson.
She was shot at about 3:30 p.m. that day and died in a Pittsburgh hospital two hours later.

The one in custody is 13. The two on the lamb are 14. Where are they gonna go? They can’t get a job, drive, or assume another identity. They can’t be too smart either- killing someone in front of a witness who knows you. Hopefully they will be caught in another day or two.
Many many years ago my dad was working downtown and a young black man and his buddies approached him. One asked my dad if he had seen a wallet lying around the area because he had lost his. By the time the guy told my dad he'd just have to take dad's wallet to replace the "missing" one, dad already had a tire iron in his hand and had hit the closest of them and knocked him to the ground. (It wasn't a tire iron, really. It was the "key" that lifts manhole covers.) He then got in his work truck and called it in to dispatch. Thank God none of them had a gun, or were to slow to pull it. I loved it when dad retired!
