DALLAS (AP) - Two women have sued the Texas Department of Public Safety over a body cavity search by a female trooper captured by patrol car video along a Dallas-area highway.
The lawsuit says the July 13 search of 38-year-old Angel Dobbs and her 24-year-old niece, Ashley Dobbs, was unlawful. The Irving women complained to DPS.
DPS spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger on Tuesday declined comment on the lawsuit. Cesinger says results of a Texas Rangers inquiry were sent to the Dallas County district attorney's office. The dispute is expected to reach a grand jury next month.
The women say a male trooper told them he saw them throwing cigarette butts out a car window, questioned them about drugs and summoned a female trooper for a search.
The two women say no drugs were found. Click here for a video of the search.

It is highly disturbing to say the least....
Yes they should!
This is beyond outrageous. I was wondering what these women could have said to avoid what happened. If they had said what you posted do you think those cops would have stopped?
My guess the women would have been handcuffed and the assault continued. This is scary stuff. I cannot fathom passively allowing myself being treated like that. How could those women stand there and take that trauma?
Being assaulted, in my opinion, is not one of those times to keep your mouth shut. I just cannot imagine standing there taking that abuse.

I don't know. Imho, they were raped.
Wow. Same glove for frontal and rectal exam?
Did the female cop also use the same glove for either suspect?
Yes. You found the word. It wasn’t assault. I believe they were held hostage and raped.
Yes. I can’t imagine how they must feel, now and forever.
The first officer obviously smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and suspected the females were hiding their stash somewhere on their bodies. So he did the right thing and called for a female to search them.
I do fault him for not asking to search the car and for not requesting a drug dog be brought to the scene. Or at least we didn't see he did. The fact he did neither leads me to believe he had reason to suspect something else.
As with others I fault the female cop for not changing her gloves while doing her search. But to call her a lesbian is a bit over the top.
I lived in TX for years and always found its DPS troopers to be well trained and polite. Be mindful, folks, TX ain't WA or CO and is not tolerant of drugs of ANY kind, including weed. Moreover, the tape just shows so much and I really doubt the kibitzers on here know all the facts.
Ok, now you can flame be but I promise I will simply ignore it. So why bother? Lol
Dyke entertainment on a slow night.
Jan the man set up a whole, systematic sexual abuse operation at the airports under the color of law. People let them get away with it.
We all know that perverts messing with your crotch will keep you safe from drugs and terrorism.
I didn’t call her a lesbian. Why did you direct your post to me?
Texas
Ok, to this I will respond but only for clarification. I didn't "direct" it to you. Yours was the last post on the thread so I merely clicked on the reply function beneath it. Sorry if I offended you. It was unintentional.
Well she’s big and fat..kinda butch and certainly seems to be enjoying herself. But you know what they say...takes one to know one.
How could those women stand there and take that trauma?
They stood there and took it because they aren’t stupid. We all know what the cops are likely to do if you so much as twitch while they have their hands on you. Verbally objecting, pulling away, or any other “resistance” would not have stopped the sexual assault, and in addition they would likely have sustained cracked skulls, broken ribs, and felony charges.
It happens in the last 30 years, when tens of millions of illegals form Mehico, aided and abetted by our own government, started invading the U.S. and demanded free education, heath care, free emergency rooms, food stamps, welfare etc....
All of this because the original trooper forgot to bring his bag of plantable dope........
Specific protocols should, and are, in place to prevent searches like this from taking place in full public view. Your acceptance of citizens pulled over in traffic and violated the way that they were is a big part of the problem in this country.
I agree that is exactly what would have happened.
The first officer obviously smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle....His first reason for pulling them over was for throwing cigarettes out of the car. Did he charge them with the littering? Apparently not. Then he ‘smelled’ marijuana. Did he ask to search the car? Apparently not. If he was afraid of his safety during this interaction, did he throw them against the car for a frisk? Apparently not. Did he charge the driver for Driving Under the Influence? Apparently not. Did he have Probable Cause for initiating a body cavity search? NO. Not one iota.
