“Last time there was a Civil War in this country, 600,000 people died.”

I seem to recall that this number was approximately half the population of the country at that time. Do you know if that is true? It might be half of the male population, I’m not sure.

If it is, let’s put it in perspective. If that happens now, we are probably talking about 50-100 million people dying....

Population in 1862 was about 31 million. It would equal one in 60 dead, or somewhere around 5 million today.

I would hate to see that much death and destruction in our fair land. It was a heartbreaker then, it would be a heartbreaker today.

The left just needs to leave our human rights alone.

The actual number of military deaths’ was 620,000.

Astonishing when you consider the total population number.
