Just watched O'Reilly interview the parents of Jon Hammar, the Marine, detained in Mexico for a bogus gun charge.
O'Reilly says he's going to give Obama and the State Department 3 days to get this done.
Otherwise he says there will be "hell to pay"
Giving the story attention is great. His pretending that he directly influences events or does a damn thing about them is ridiculous.
This self aggrandizement is standard schtik for many of our talk show hosts. Do you ever listen to them fall over one another as they claim they were the first one to make a suggestion, or that world events took place because they said something? And then they complain that all the other hosts are copying them.
The signs entering Mexico are clear that it is against the law to carry weapons in that country.
Sure, but shouldn't they bend their laws for us the way we do for them? /s
bttt
He has an audience of millions each night. I’ve worked in the media so I understand exactly how it can be used.
I believe O’Reilly will begin to confront politicians and make their life hell until they do something.
O’Reilly started pushing for Jessica’s law and he himself has got it passed in almost every state!
Here’s some video that will in the very least.. give you some entertainment! :)

Welp, unfortunately we don’t have much media on our side. So when someone gives attention to a story such as this, I don’t feel the need to bash them.
Sorry but nobody’s perfect. I’d rather have a blowhard than either A) no one OR B) Chrissy Matthews on every channel??
Yes he does have influence, but O'Reilly is the ultimate panderer.
Well, maybe not for Christmas - it takes a couple of days for the UN to draft a strong nastygram.
Perhaps UNICEF could visit him in jail, and give him some Halloween candy?
What does Mexico think this Marine is guilty of, Fast & Furious or something? We should offer up Eric Holder in exchange for this Marine!
Maybe so! But would you rather have Chris Matthews on every channel? I think not. I’m not asking our media to be perfect.
I’m just hoping they’re not actively rooting for the destruction of the country. lol..
I love that idea!
I don’t quite get why our Marine was convinced he could carry south of the border, given a sign like that. Who would risk it, even when given an okay by some dolt, with a sign like that? I can’t imagine a Marine making that kind of decision.
Of course I want this man home, as in yesterday, and after all that we do for Mexican aliens breaking our laws, there is no excuse for Mexico, but this catastrophe was completely predictable and the outcome guaranteed. The sign said it all. Stooopid.
I know a guy that got caught with a few .22LR rounds rolling around in his truck in the early 80’s in Mexico (no gun) He didn’t even know they were there.
Well, he is lucky he was able to pay them off.
He’s beating a dead horse, the guy will do his time!!!
“Sure, but shouldn’t they bend their laws for us the way we do for them?”
You will be dead a long time before that happens!
ANY attention on this Marine’s behalf is a positive. Even O’Reilly can be right once in a while.
Agreed!
Like I said, not asking for the media to be perfect, just as long as they’re not actively pushing for the DESTRUCTION of this country.
The fact that Eric Holder still has a job on tax dollars and not being prosecuted for crimes says more about this nation than even what the Kenyan has influenced.
bump!
Actually it is legal to take both shotguns and rifles into Mexico after first having obtained permission to do so for hunting purposes only.
They used to have great dove hunting.
