According to the media, anything with a barrel and a trigger attached to it.

There is no such things...people assault, not inanimate objects...this includes rifles, cars, knives, baseball bats, etc...
at this point, an assault rifle is a firearm designed specifically to make liberal’s head’s explode... figuratively speaking of course.
