I think we are all troubled... but your solution is expensive and IMHO a bandaid. How about we throw out the political correct crap and deal with mental illness? The Colorado guy was a nut case. The Arizona shooter was a nutcase. As were the folks that were at the universities but we can’t deal with that. The gun laws worked as this fellow found he was unable to buy guns a few days ago... this was not a spur of the moment decision on his part. It was a long time ago (but not that long— I am not retired). When I was in high school —1,200 kids, I could have gone into the parking lot and found over 200 rifles and shotguns in students’ cars and pickups ... most in plain view in gun racks... all the vehicles unlocked and all of the guns loaded.
It is very sad, it is a tragic moment. The loss of a child is something that a parent should never have to deal with.
