I left the state. I moved. Bugged out. I managed to make my work remote (Home office) and left to the west of the Hudson river.
I am imploring all that I know - family, friends. Please leave.
Connecticut is not the state I grew up in. It’s not serene, beautiful nor is it safe for us. The cities have already overflowed their boundaries, and spread like wildfire.
That state is just plain dangerous. And without the law recognising my right to defend myself and those in danger of harm or deadly force - I can’t be there anymore. An environment has been created where there is no good news.
When I return to CT (I rent a room in Newtown) I am just a 10 minute walk to the Elementary school. Newtown CT is a gorgeous, safe town full of good people. It is quintessential New England. I am from this area, have roots here and know (What feels like) most of the town.
Knowing that, please understand my warning to be as serious as I can state: The local CT government is “coming”. At the helm of this at-one-time beautiful state are very angry, very spiteful liberals who are power hungry in ways that we can only try to comprehend. I work for a powerful lobby in CT, and I see the inner operations of the state from the perspective of an infiltrator.
What I saw made me pack up my family and leave. I couldn’t sell my house in time, so I shortsaled and walked away. I ran from this state because things are about to get very bad.
I’m not just dropping words on the internet, being an arm-chair critic or spewing warnings. I lost tens of thousands of dollars in possessions, equipment and business contacts to leave that state. And in doing so, I am building a homestead in the country in an attempt to protect my family from what is about to happen.
God bless us all.
Wow. I moved back here to help my parents as they got older and their health started failing. They have passed on to greater glory, but considering all my family is out west, I think I might have to follow your advice and get out.
My parent’s property is so very special though. A house they had built, good acreage, with one neighbor and a huge state forest across the street and next to them. Bucolic is an apt description.
Acouple years ago if I read your post, I would have thought..wow, he’s just over-reacting a little, isn’t he?
Today, I thank you for your post. It is realistic.
I live in FL and am thinking of moving to TX. It is scarier and scarier and the civil conflict obama is fomenting continues:black/white-—haves/havenots-— morality and religion going down sides..etc.
Now it feels scairy..soon it WILL be scairy.
Used to be the Colt folks had a little to say about guns in CT. Not so much.
Fortunately Smith and Wesson is a big employer in our district. Our critter has to walk a tight line with what he supports.
