By the way would you mine share your fact based criticism of why the article is so dumb. It would be welcome if you have some expertise and knowledge of the subject matter that could refute that provided in the article, so we could judge the danger on based on facts from both sides.
For example in what way was Dr. Peter Vincent Pry statement that: “It appeared that the nuclear tests was weak with respect to destructive power in terms of the nuclear blast itself, the tests indicated the weapon was “capable of emitting enough gamma rays to disable the electric power grid across most of the lower 48 states.”?
I'm not saying that the Norks are harmless, but this type of “fear-mongering” gives them way too much credit as far as capabilities go. And I say that from the perspective of general knowledge.
If you agree with this ludicrous statement, please feel free to post any and all technical papers that would tend to back up what I am calling nonsensical and overblown ‘chicken little’ proclamations and I will be happy to share any technical data that I believe will refute such.
Really, do you suspect the Norks have no knowledge of our military's EMP defensive capabilities? Seeing as how they would be quite aware of the extensive “hardening” our mission critical electronics have, they would not be crazy enough, even for Norks, to attempt to lob a nuke or two our way in an attempt to knock out our electrical grid knowing what would be coming their way after such an attempt? Even threatening such an operation would be laughable with their current technology, but it's a given that eventually they will improve their yields to field a nominal threat to our power grid, assuming their schizo rockets could put them at the desired coordinates reliably in the next 10 years.
I say Dr. Peter Vincent Pry is full of shiite, at least at this point in time, concerning their overall capabilities and the reliability of their technology and I do not for a second believe that his statements are the end-all expertise in what is exactly required to “disable” our electrical grid in CONUS.
