Yup, if Daryl goes, so does the fan base. For some reason, I also really like Glenn. Not sure why, something about him. He's a survivor. Not as adept at killing walkers as Daryl, but willing to do what it takes to get the job done, several times over.
Except for his brother...no one wants him at their back.
No doubt about it.
Also, despite the screeching I've seen from feminists that The Walking Dead treats women and minorities terribly----and I have no idea WTH they're talking about----they seem, almost involuntarily, to be attracted to the character of Daryl. I think this is because women, sometimes in spite of themselves, just like real men. The males on this show are a welcome change from the feminized, polished little metrosexuals seen elsewhere on TV.
My one problem with WD, and we both love the show, is that it’s set in Georgia. Now think about it for a second. This is Georgia, folks, the gun owning population of Georgia would rank as about the 5th largest Army on Earth. And Georgia is a machine gun State IIRC.
If the zombie apacolypse does happen I’m fairly sure that Georgia would be one of the safest places on the planet, as would be Texas. Zombies wouldn’t stand a chance....
Modern media demonizes whites, men, and Southerners and especially white men who are Southerners. In this show, he’s the no-nonsense hero. He can shoot, he can hunt, and while often rough, is not the enemy.
