Back in the 70's and 80's, preppers were known as "survivalists", and were shunned as wacko's then too. Today, we have TV shows like "Doomsday Preppers" to make us look like fools.

And when someone asked if I was a 'survivalist', I always asked what the opposite of a 'survivalist' was? Pretty much gobstopped 'em.
