Those who have watched the show since the first season know that Hester sold off his second-hand stores in 2011, and went into the auction (wholesale) business for himself. Those who watch the show know that Dave often goes home empty-handed. That can't be good for the bottom line.

I think that Dave's businesses are failing, the show's dropping him (and thus he loses a significant advertising vehicle for himself) and that Dave's out to replace the revenue any way he can. Oh look - he's started yet another new business! Dave Hester Entertainment.
