Seriously, all those shows are fake to one level or another.

They have to be, especially the Storage Wars show. When they pull the camera back and you see a huge crowd of people there at the auction, but it is always the same four people bidding and winning the bids, it can't possibly be real.

I watched the pawn show from Detroit recently and noticed a customer had a piece of black tape covering a logo on his sweater. I’ve seen the same with caps. At some point prior to entering the store, someone associated with the TV show made a decision.

We did get a chance to visit the Red Jacket shop a few months ago. Those crazy Cajuns seemed pretty genuine but of course, you know the 'for TV' builds they get are all staged (and they aren't shy about it, pretty obvious). The shop on the show is the actual shop, what they don't show is the massive shop next to it and the huge merchandise store three buildings down for all the fans. They also have gone over the top with their Academy line where they basically take a S&W M&P, add their own dust cover and iron sights, engrave the lower, and charge an extra $500 (yet wife still wants one knowing this). For the same price, you can order a full build from them if you are willing to wait 5 months.

Little shop you see on TV.

Just a few of the adjoining shops and warehouses they have (3-4 big shops connected).
