About 10 years ago I was in Bering’s in Houston-a wonderful place to shop. They had the most awesome nativity scene I had ever seen but it was $350. Even though I had a perfect place to put it in my entryway, I didn’t buy it but was sorely tempted. Even ten years ago that was a whole lot of money. Went back two more times and it was still there so I figured God wanted me to have it in my home and that’s where it’s been ever since. So glad I did.

I don’t even allow myself to go into Williams Sonoma any more - everything they have, particularly at Christmas, is so beautiful. I just simply cannot afford to yield to temptation. I am such an easy sell on dishes so just bought plain white then I can buy a serving piece of something I see that I think I can’t live without but only use a short time each year. Much easier on the pocketbook.

I shop at Bering's Hardware in Houston all the time. It doesn't matter what you need, a light bulb, a/c filters, one small nail, tools or a fabulous set of china, Bering's has it all.

If you haven't been there in a while the store on Westheimer at Potomac has been remodeled and redone and it is fabulous!

I buy a lot of gifts there from practical to fancy. Baby clothes, toys, cards, you name it, Bering's has it!
