What would make the seller comfortable with release of the car w/o the title transfer?? Can a seller let the car go with some other form proving he no longer owns it, you know to protect himself.. No one selling should just let the car go with just a signed title. ( I’ve been looking for a certain model, I may come across this)???

A simple bill of sale does that, you can down load a binding bill of sale blank from several web sites.

The buyer should get a (notarized in most States) signed title to take to his home state, the seller should get a bill of sale, signed by the buyer. I think it would be prudent to get this notarized too. You can also give the buyer a copy so he'll have proof of ownership if he gets stopped before he gets the title transferred. Then the deal is done. If the buyer fails to transfer the title and you start getting his traffic tickets you have proof that you sold the vehicle.
