Thanks for the congratulations on my abilities to discern your psychological issues....sarcasm implied.
I guess I will be the one to spell it out for you, I almost spoke for all freepers but caught myself, I will address this from a personal perspective. I assume many here at free republic are equally concerned with the state of our great nation.
Many have served in uniform, had family who have served and/or lost loved ones through the many wars fighting for our countrymen and principles.
Having said that, it is my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with engaging in a topic of enjoyment and relaxation. This fosters another level of camaraderie.
Many times I have caught myself to absorbed in the daily depressing issues of the day and have been able to divert myself though a thread such as the gardening thread.
I caution you to find a topic that is an escape, where you can find some enjoyment and relaxation. This will serve you well, it provides you an opportunity to recharge your batteries and live to fight another day.
Take this advice if you so chose, if not then that is your choice but to cast aspersions upon others is unbecoming.

Thank you. I am quite sure your advice is wisdom. I just don’t use FR for that purpose, for escape and relaxation, but enough said. I’ll take your word for it that so many, many others do. Obviously, we see that there are a number of comments on this very thread. Thanks. Rita
