Florida authorities are idiots. They routinely complain about invasive species but let people otherwise own many exotic species. Guess what, dimwit officials: when these exotic species escape or more often are let loose by bored owners they breed like rabbits, and become a threat to the ecosystem.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Instead of complaining about being over-run by invasive species try banning their sale and ownership in the first instance.

The pythons are doing a dandy job of eating the invasive Nutria.

The DNR officially classifies cats as an “non-native invasive species”, BTW.

Slippery slopes and all that.
