Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum claims that Floyd Mayweather Jr. once turned down a $100-million offer to fight Pacquiao.
Speaking with ESPN 1100 in Las Vegas, Arum said there was a proposal on the table for a $180 million purse 55% ($100 million) would have gone to Mayweather, and 45% ($80 million) would have gone to Pacquiao.
Why'd he allegedly turn a hundred million dollars down?
Arum claims that Mayweather hates fighting left-handed, unorthodox fighters. His closest fights have been against guys like this, and Arum says Mayweather becomes "completely vulnerable" against them.
Mayweather is undefeated, and the chance to retire unbeaten would be put squarely on the line in a Pacquiao fight. Here's Arum's full quote via Sports Radio Interview:
"Mayweather will not fight him. Now why am I saying that? I'm not saying it to be, I know the guy and I know what his problem is, Mayweather, because we had him for 10 and a half years and his problem was he hated, he never wanted to face a southpaw and a southpaw that can move and punch with his left hand makes Mayweather completely vulnerable."

A lesson Apollo Creed learned the hard way ;-)
Professional boxing is still out there, huh?
Seriously, I used to follow it on a regular basis, but the heavyweight division got so uninteresting with the flood of 300-pound Russians and overmatched Americans, I haven’t seen a match in years. Not broadcasting championship fights on network TV didn’t help either.
Bring a lawn chair, a 6 pack, and join me in the front yard in June/July.
The neighbors across the street still do some boxing, until the cops show up and one of them goes to jail. ;)

Mayweather is a punk. I hope he fights and gets his ass handed to him.
He won't. Ever. He is scared as Arum says.
The big problem for Mayweather is that he will not be remembered for retiring undefeated.
He will always be remembered as the coward who ran like a pu$$y from The Pac Man at all costs.
That carries the weight of truth. But what would you expect from a rich white Republican...oh...wait.
And yet I imagine, somewhere and somehow, Don King gets a piece of the action.
Pac Man walked into one tonight and got knocked out. Time to go back into politics.
Maybe a 5th fight? I don’t think so. But this was a crazy fight. No one thought he could get KOd, reminded me of Hagler/Hearns. Hearns basically walked right into the punch. Pacman leading on all the cards before he was stopped and Marquez has a broken jaw. Winner looks like the loser.
Arum already hyping for a 5th fight. Manny says “why not”.
And after tonight Mayweather might want to fight Manny. I still see Manny beating Mayweather.

Mayweather will always be a punk at some level for not fighting him at his peak when he was supposed to.
Marquez solidified his status as superstar last night- a classic Mexican boxer.
The greatest “little guy” fighter was Roberto Duran. In his late 30s he was still winning belts. In his heyday as a Lightweight, he was the greatest ever. The early version of Pacquiano reminded me of Duran, but Duran absolutely lived to fight, he had none of the distractions, i.e., singing and political career like the Pacman has. Styles make fights and Marquez had the style to frustrate Manny. I think both fighters should retire. Mayweather has already beaten
Marquez. He’ll never fight him again.
