So, I’m not sure what “ranking” means. Top Democrat on the committee? Member with longest service? But evidently NOT the chair, which was what I assumed from the headline and lead paragraph.
Top Democrat on the committee is correct. I don’t know if the rules are still the same but she is likely the one with the longest service on the committee.
It’s a misleading story, yes.
It means that if the democrats retake the House she will be the Chairman. Now she gets to be the chief Thorn in the side of the Chairman
