Muskets were generally .54 to .766 caliber and were definitely difficult to survive if you were hit.

The 2nd Amendment was written for all arms.

The average hunting rifle has far more lethality than most “assault rifle” cartridges yet no one is clamoring to ban them. For that matter, so do most moving cars. Nobody, with the possible exception of Moonbat Gore, is suggesting that we ban those either. I am so tired of ill-informed, hoplophobe liberals trying to ban guns because they fear the peasants might be able to protect themselves.

Even so, it would be fun to see if the libs would be fine with us all carrying muskets and black powder pistols everywhere, without licenses or registration. According to them, it is absolutely our right to do so, but I think if we started doing it, they would change their tune.
