And they're dropping music for news/talk. Care to guess what direction they'll lean towards? I would guess more than a few taxpayer dollars will go toward these "progressive" shows.
This has happened in places like Boston (WGBH) and Pittsburgh (WDUQ) too. Out with the music, in with the lefty talk/news. And calling them non-commercial radio isn't totally accurate. They get corporate "donations" and the companies get mentioned. They speak of the need to get "commercial (sic) revenue" for these stations.
And they want a Fairness Doctrine. The day I hear ANY conservative opinions on public radio is the day they're at least trying to be fair. (And it still would be nothing comp. to the liberal bias)
Taxpayer funded radio
oh goodie
I bet they are fair and balanced

Pacifica is going broke. Donations are plummeting. Stations are mismanaged. Almost nobody listens ... and probably half of those that do are amused conservatives, not sycophants.
There is a Pacifica station in Houston that I listen to from time-to-time. Funny stuff. These guys are far enough out of the mainstream that they’re not even worth worrying about. Democracy Now, the flagship show, is broadcast on hudrends of stations ... to dozens of listeners.

it’d be ironic is they started airing Rush Limbaugh
I listened to “gavel to gavel” coverage of the Watergate hearings, on the Lost Angeles Pacifica affiliate, 1973-74.
WPFW (89.3, or the far left of the dial, as we used to day) has been beyond barking moonbat for decades.
It’s said their call letters stand for “We’re Public Field Workers”.
Their website indicates that Pacifica is looking to hire a CFO.
That boy ain't right.
