The Big 10 stinks this year. Penn St. and OSU are on probation and the B10 match ups are mostly with the SEC.

I wish the Pac12 had matched up with the SEC and I think the P12 would have delivered a beat down. The P12 has a lot of teams that feature a decent QB, decent team speed and physical linemen.

The pac12 teams have to aspire to not let Oregon and Stanford embarass them. That means you have to have a decent QB, speed for Oregon, and physicality for Stanford.

The SEC has a lot of teams that do not have a QB or are slow. The SEC is physical top to bottom.

Cal Bears were one of the worst teams in the Pac12 (3-9, 2-7) but played OSU pretty even in Columbus. The bears had a decent QB, decent speed and decent size.

I think OSU in the pac12 this year, would have lost a bunch of games and I think Wisconsin is going down in the rose bowl too.

Any of the top four SEC teams would beat Notre Dame convincingly this year.

I think ND is better than an overrated LSU and South Carolina. ND does get stomped by AL, underrated Texas AM, and Georgia, but probably plays FL pretty even.

I would like to see Pac12 vs. SEC. The Pac12 has a lot of speedy physical teams like Oregon St. UCLA, Stanford, and Oregon is pretty good too.

The rules of the BCS mandated Northern Illinois get the slot. This is the same rule that Boise State could never get the stars to align correctly for. You can thank Wisconsin, I believe.

“Overrated” LSU won when they traveled to “underrated” Texas A&M this year. They lost to Alabama by trying to use a prevent defense with too much time remaining.

There were really only 2 decent conferences this year, SEC and Pac12. The Big10 had OSU and Penn St. on probation and the rest of the league is not very good anyway. The Big East is an embarassment. The ACC has one decent team. The Big 12 has one decent team in KState.

To be a decent team, you need size and speed and a decent QB. I think the Pac12 is pretty speedy, decently sized and has the best lineup of QBs.

But guess what, in the bowls, I don’t think there is a single Pac12 vs. SEC match up.

I am looking for the P12, SEC to go a combined 14-1 or something like that in the bowls. The only close games I see for the two conferences is Oregon might lose to KState and Vandy might lose to NC State.

One factor that leads to bad bowl match-ups is the ridiculous conference tie-ins. They hamstring any flexibility in getting a good match-up. I’ll be a very happy guy if the concept of the 4 Super Conferences comes to fruition. 4 conferences of 16 teams 2 divisions of 8 within the conference. These 4 conferences would then create a NCAA “Premiere League” and the remaining teams can combine with the good FCS schools and create the next tier. The 64 top teams would be required to only play within the 64 team league. No cupcake opponents looking for a payday. An 8 or 16 team playoff could then be formatted and the bowls would be sent to the ash heap of history they so richly deserve.

>What happened to the old days when bowl games were named after obscure citrus fruits?<

Corporate sponsors had to pick up the naming rights or they all would have been named ‘High Fructose Corn Syrup’ bowls.

After 2 and 10 last year and 3 straight egg Bowl loses to Ms State this is like the BCS crown for Ole Miss.

My idea of a good football team is big, fast guys with a talented QB. LSU falls short in the talented QB area. To my eye, and to my bias, the QB situation makes LSU look bad to me. And to my eye and biases, the AM Qb makes his team look very good and better than LSU.

I am really at a loss as to why a playoff is "necessary".

Back before the BCS days, there was arguing all winter long about who shoulda won the votes, who was jobbed and wound up as #3, but you know what?

No one got hurt by it.

The schools and the bowls still made money, the best players got their shot at pro tryouts, just like now. I was fine with it and I think lots of other fans were, too.

Besides, there is no playoff system I am aware of that will eliminate the real curse of Division I ball - the cupcake games scheduled to pad the W-L record.

An ‘if’ or ‘but’ was the difference in anyone of the other top six SEC teams from winning the conference, What if Florida didn’t turn over the ball 6 times against UGA? What if Lattimore didn’t get hurt for Carolina? What if LSU didn’t play prevent against Bama? What if A&M could have hung on after their fast starts against UF and LSU? What if UGA spiked the ball before running the last play against Bama?

There is a reason they play the games.......Oklahoma and Boise State being a prime example.

I’m an Aggie, and I think LSU and A&M are fairly evenly matched. I think it just depends whose having a good day.

Of course, I think A&M’s kicker did lose that game along with the Florida game.

I also think our defense is a little weak.

In my post season analysis, I have to give Florida kudos. They had a 4-1 record against the other 11 teams in the top 12 of the BCS.

I am scratching my head at how losing to an unranked NC State team is tremendously worse than losing to an unranked Baylor.

I would love to see A&M play Stanford. I think A&M is better than Stanford, yet Stanford is ranked higher.

Oh well, I’m glad we’re playing OU. It will be one of the better bowl games!!

The Cotton Bowl is better than any of the other BCS games, outside of the title game....I thought there was a movement to add the Cotton Bowl as an official BCS Bowl Game.
