Some dealerships allow the testing of a firearm prior to purchase. Seek out one of those dealerships. The range is at the dealership location, if prior testing is allowed, and there is normally someone there to instruct and educate. This is true of the state I live in thus not knowing your local, it will be up to you to pick up the phone and ask specific questions. Normally to test a firearm does not obligate oneself to purchase with a reputable dealer.
