Word For The Day, November 27, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
salad days
-n
a period of youthful inexperience:
LOL
(((((groan)))))
In all the previous elections, Broward County used to give a little sticker that said “MY VOTE COUNTED”. This time, however, the sticker said: “I VOTED”.
I should have realized they were up to SOMETHING!
Thousand ISLAND would work for the Lyin’ King too, as he was probably born and raised in Indonesia.
Last week I took in my local food co-op’s all-you-could-eat Thanksgiving buffet.
Regained consciousness in the hospital following a 72-hour salad daze.
I never ate much salad during my “salad days” — more like frequent stops at ‘Mighty Taco’ after healthy amounts of beer...
what the heck was that stuff sprayed with?? ; )
LMAO You only need a cup of salad a day for regularity. ;^)
Snow, huh? It is 56, breezy and clear here-the leaves are turning and starting to fall-I’m thinking of going way into the woods later this afternoon with a book, a snack and one of those fabric bags-that I do NOT use for groceries-to collect some fall foliage and flowers to brighten up the kitchen...
Even in my salad days
I had some questions about
Things I was told are free-
I was a prisoner of doubt
How is it free, I asked-
Does no one have to pay?
What if they need tomorrow
The money they spent today?
So, now that money was wasted
It didn’t accomplish a lot
But to teach more lazy people
To want what others have got
Probably the most clever thing I've read in a long time
Very good -
The snow is long gone. It’s 36 degrees now.
Thank you!
Thanks. References to Slick Willie and the disgusting details of his debauched, decandent dalliance with Ms. Lewinsky are routinely glossed over or ignored completely by the mainstream media. And Clinton remains the most popular democrat of his generation, as was Teddy Kennedy before him. The latter’s c.v. features driving a young woman off a bridge into a few feet of water, where he cravenly allowed her to drown while he slinked home and tried to get someone with a less famous name to take the rap for him.
So, we have the Butcher of Benghazi, the King of the Oval Office Sink, and the Lion of Chappaquiddick as role models for young liberals. I’ll stick with Reagan.
I totally agree with you. For years we have joked that liberals will defend other liberals for affairs or illegitimate children they ignored...but now we have death threats if we dare to say anything against a liberal icon. Women are defending pure scum like that abuser Cris Brown and saying they would let him beat them just to go to bed with him. How disgusting can a woman be to degrade herself to that level? But that is the mindset of the typical liberal who doesn’t have God in their life -
Hmmmm.
I’m south of your border here in upstate North Carolina for a bit.... Working nightshift this time in an outdoors plant - no walls or roof. Don’t know of its better with clouds (not as cold but foggy and wet) or clear (much colder but at least you’re dry.
Have to keep even the green beans and potatoes from Golden Corral inside in the frigerator- they’d freeze sitting out in the open on these solid (er, salad) nights.
Stay warm-do you have a warm parka and thermal underthings?
How about a pair each of those battery-operated socks and gloves from the sporting goods store?
Our compressors are always under a roof. And I try to make the case that control panels belong in climate controlled places.
Since when can you take stuff out of Golden Corral?
