thank God for books, Words with Friends and Songpop. xshub has to hope that SU has a good basketball season bc that is all he is left with. the weekly standard and national reviews that come in the mail go unread.
i’m hoping that xsboy makes the SU hockey road trip to U of DE this coming weekend so we can drive up to see him. Life sucks without hockey. the squad is so big that they don’t all get to travel. we will make a side trip to King of Prussia mall if we do go, xsgirls and i.
I was so green.
I read the new Janet Evanovich book in one day this weekend. Laughed out loud all day. Yes, thank God for books. It’s going to be a long bleak winter watching Obama lord it over us, while freezing in the dang frozen cold tundra...yep, I need my distractions. Spent yesterday getting in some shopping therapy. It worked!
Speaking of Words w Friends....I was talking about it at Thanksgiving dinner.....said I beat all my friends except for ONE person.....and she is a FReeper. So my SIL starts a game with me......she is losing by over 70 points on just a few words each. I told her on Thanksgiving that I needed some serious competition to keep me humble and she sent me a request the next day. LOL
my friend Paula, the gyn, always prescribes retail therapy for what ails you! i did some cybermonday shopping yesterday. xshub’s bday is 12/11 and i got him some SU memorabilia type things for his shrine.
Root Sports has taken to running Penguins Classics. I mean, it’s good cause we always win, but it’s not quite the same.
my St James mom friend, Janice, started playing WWF with me this past weekend. i said, i don’t know, Janice, you are so darn cut-throat at bananagram, i don’t know if this is a good idea! LOL!
NHL network had 24-7 on this past weekend, and they were bleeping out Bruce Boudreaux profanity which made it even more hilarious than hearing the F word every other word!
My wife got me three new old Guitar Hero/Rock Band games for $5 each. So that’s my winter plan. That and ice skating. We went Saturday for the first time this season. Once our feet heal, we’ll go again.
My salad days were a solid daze I see as through a haze distressing and patiently await the day when I can get my share of the tasty salad dressing.
So callow youth, you know the truth, when you feel those hurts it's simply what is being served up as your just desserts. (Doggerel for Dogs)
That’s like watching The Big Lebowski on Comedy Central. Not quite the same.
WHy do we have to suffer Obama spending his salad days as POTUS?

In thinking about salad days and recent presidents, Bush conjures up ranch, Obama definitely is Caesar, while Clinton evokes blew cheese.
There’s a rink in Greensburg that’s been there forever. That’s where we go.
There’s also a newer place in Delmont, but we’ve never been.
