Ha, ha, maybe the most succinct appraisal of these losers. They did leave a lot of beatnik jokes behind. Never met one person who would admit to being a beatnik. Mostly just another west and east coast collection of life's losers who thought they'd find nirvana in drugs. Like the hippies.
These people rejected any kind of morality or authority and they usually acted on it. They also thought themselves far superior to others.
