To: Future Snake Eater
Quoting my nephew who is a producer in Hollywood. I was discussing with him how MGM pulled the plug when it announced that it "was closing the Stargate franchise" over some bloody internal war that killed both the third Stargate movie and any more of the series. He did not know the details of the blood feud that ended the franchise but what he said next was interesting.

"After you've been a major character in a successful series like 'Stargate SG-1' for 4 or 5 years -- let alone 10 years -- you never have to work again. Your children will never have to work. Your grandchildren will work only if they want to."

Whatever that conflict was killed one of the best-written TV shows I’ve ever seen. That show lived continuity and it showed.
