Surprises? Yes. I always knew Kaepernick could perform this well, but I didn't necessarily think it would be this game.

The biggest surprise is that Roman/Harbaugh let Kap run free. It seemed like the trend was they didn't want him to run. 183 yards? That was the playoff record and overall record for a QB. The most postseason yards by any 49er. Amazing. And all, after he started off throwing an interception.

The biggest surprise is they won, and also how much they eventually dominated. I felt most the season they were underachievers. But they were impressive against a team that was holding tight.

I did say before the game if they were going to win, Gore had to have a game like their first game. He had a few more yards than last time. Which is amazing, considering Kap ran for so many yards. 323 rushing yards? Yeah, that's what they can do, and they can strive for. 43 rushes? Yeah, they should be shooting for that. Harbaugh and Roman should remember they are a rushing team, and they win when they hand off the ball. I worry that Harbaugh doesn't get that.

Playcalling was the best today in a long time. Some amazing passes and amazing catches.

Defense much better with Justim Smith, even with an injured wing. Pass rush was better than recent games, but still needs to be better. If I am not mistaken, they blitzed more tonight than they did all season.
