More likely that many work off the books and are not encumbered by income tax.
That whole "n00b" thing isn't much different than the protection of tenure afforded to liberal professors at leftist universities. Similar to seniority as favored by collectivist Big Labor, the wielding of the "newbie" pejorative here on Free Republic shows that the argument is lost.
Long before the rise of the internet, I was ridiculed as the "new guy" when I worked at a force-unionism shop in Western Pennsylvania back in the 1980s. I successfully led a campaign to bust the entrenched union through a decertification process. As the vote to break the union neared, the cocky veteran of 25 years with the company uttered this hateful remark (cleansed for this forum): "I was here when you got here sonny and I'll be here when your ******* sorry *** is gone!. I've been with this company since 1958 and I've got ******* seniority!".
Well, we voted for liberty and voted out the union and that foul-mouthed guy, a lazy featherbedding goon, was fired shortly thereafter. So much for his vaunted "tenure" and so much for me, the "n00b" that got him and his type of unionists dismissed.
Excellent post, sentiment and story...
To put someone down only because they are relatively NEW to the organization is a baseless, losing, irrelevant argument.
Way to go in bustin’ the brotherhood...so un-American to have to join an organization to friggin’ work....Freepin’ awesome.
All the best to my fellow FReepers on this blessed Thanksgiving Day.
