I am stunned at the number and intensity of responses on this thread.
It speaks volumes as to how divided the American people have become. I remember the Vietnam war era from my schoolage years and it was never THIS acrimonious between family members.
I’m now reminded of one of Lincoln’s most famous quotes, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”
A lot of us would do well to ponder those words this Thanksgiving.
