What are your three favorite science fiction movies?
Original versions of Invaders from Mars and invasion of the Body Snatchers.
The Blob. Blade Runner.
I have no idea why people list bladerunner. Saw original, in 82 snoozer, then the directors cut came out, went to hollywood to watch that, because certainly it had to be better.... Ummmmm Nope. The only thing I can think of is that there is another movie out there called bladerunner that is this classic tale.... I just keep seeing the bad one.
The Purple People Eater?
“The Brain from Planet Arous” (1958)!
Well, not really. But it is a fun flick. I love just about any and every 1950s-vintage sci-fi movie.
Blade Runner - easily the best
Logan’s Run - begs for a QUALITY remake, but great anyway
Empire Strikes Back - formed the lives of a generation
2001
The even numbered Star Treks
Blade Runner
Alien
I was going to say "Idiocracy", but I suddenly realized that it is a documentary and not a true syfi film!
Brazil is one of my favorite movies of all time but I don’t know if you can cal it sci fi.
Why would they want to destroy what they created? (We were `flying too close to the sun,’ like Icarus?)
Dune, Blade Runner, Enemy Mine, Children of Dune, Colossus the Forbin Poject, Predator.
Dune, Blade Runner, Enemy Mine, Children of Dune, Colossus the Forbin Poject, Predator.
Although it’s a serial and not really a movie, I liked “Radar Men from the Moon.” For many years, I thought “Star Wars I” (1977) was the greatest film ever made.
1.) Aliens (the second movie)
2.) Starship Troopers
3.) Battle Los Angeles
Some great picks here....I will add “The Fly” - the original with Vincent Price. “Help me.....”
One answer for three questions:
GHOSTBUSTERS, GHOSTBUSTERS, GHOSTBUSTER.
The conservative lessons and understones add to what is an already amazingly classic script and story- the best ever.
Think about it; regular citizens filling a nitch, having foresight against a coming storm, everyone telling them they are crazy, the EPA trying to shut down the business in the name of unproven science, the EPA eventually leading to a brutal terror of the civilization which would have been avoided if the EPA/Gov just stay out of the way; the narcissistic mayor who only thinks of the decision in terms of the election, rather than common sense or what is best for the city. and on and on and on.
Who ya gonna call?
The last has still not been made.
I would add the first 2 terminator movies
Another that I liked when I saw it in the theater was “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” (1961).
