Why would Jason kill Nicole, though? And why would a narcissistic jerk like O.J. take the rap for him? Not arguing, just curious as to what the theory is.
Well the theory is that he was not happy with Nicole sleeping around but there is a disposition where Jason stated that he and Nicole had an argument. Jason took the bronco without OJ permission and Nicole went outside to confront him and had a heated discussion.
As for OJ I believe as a father he gave up his life for his son. He may realize he is old and Jason has still a future ahead of him. Not realizing that he is enabling Jason’s behavior, so he decided to be the fall guy. Yes I do believe OJ knows who was responsible and I think he knew what Jason did which explains why he drove his bronco that night to the Bundy place where Nicole was in order to see what Jason had done only to be shocked how brutal it was.
