Word For The Day, Monday, 11/19/12
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
ludic; adj
layful in an aimless way: the ludic behavior of kittens.
Etymology: 193540; < Latin lūd- (stem of lūdere to play) + -ic, perhaps via French ludique, learned formation from same components
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)
Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Along with “Airing of Grievances”, Yes. I believe so.
And, of course, I get to interact with the humans too.

Had a kiddo named “Serenity Forever” this weekend. Don’t they now her middle name should have been Now?
For many Catholics this may begin with recognizing how they have denied their faith in Our Lord and His Church by placing political party or selfish concerns ahead of the demands of our Catholic faith. For others, myself included to some extent, tempted by doubt and fear as we realize just how far our society has fallen, it may mean recognizing that we have placed too much hope in mere political processes or candidates and not enough hope in Jesus Christ and His Church. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation
.Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God. Ps. 146
On voter fraud, our side is ludic
Laid back, Jamaican, Bermudic
We need a fighter
A scratcher, a biter
Whose approach would be more barracudic
Last weekend I went into the sacristy to speak to our new priest. I walked up to him and said...”Let me introduce myself, I must be the only one who loves your homilies. I went home after your first one and told my husband I was going to LOVE our new priest.” He looked confused and the deacon was grinning as he left the room. He said that Bishop Clark just met with him and he, Fr. Brian, was wrong. I just laughed and told him I thought he was just fine...that some of us were relieved to see Bishop Clark go. He was a bit speechless.
A+++ though i wallow in hopelessness right now, i imagine i would re-join the fight, behind such a leader.
keep reinforcing him! he’s going to need it, to do his job properly.
I was shocked that Bishop Clark still had this much power and influence over the diocese.
The election was a bust
voter ID now a must
While the Pubs were ludic
the Dem cheating ridic

while once his name was floated for the US Sup Ct. Judge Mike LUDIC stepped down from the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
NBC came back from commercial last night during the Steeler game and I look up to see video of my Jayhawks playing in the playoff game last Friday. A little local color for the national audience.
Why would anyone want to watch that the night before Thanksgiving?
was it because the STeeler game was so depressing?
Hobbes isn’t advocating for the show, he has been defending OJ for the last 12 years or so and he feels vindicated by this....
No, just local color. The ladle pouring molten steel had the night off.
We were playing Ditka’s alma mater, so they could get that mentioned as well.
Well that may be. My comment was really about the wisdom of ID for producing such a show to be aired the night before T’Giving. I love murder mysteries and watch more than my share, being an insomniac. But, this show sounds really gruesome.
To nip the pending bug & get into a holiday mood...
