I don’t think it would be hard to prove he was not born in the United States. The problem is, no one wants to do it. They’d be called names. Who’da thought calling names would work.

Social pressure is exactly the correct answer. Who wanted to be the person to point out that the first Black candidate for President wasn't eligible? Who wanted to deal with the screaming and hatred they would receive from the left?
