Some pundit remarked that Petraeus would have been watched so closely they would know what he ate for breakfast. Surrounded by WH insiders, not his own advisers, they knew his every move.

Petraues screwed up when he thought he was on the inside of the WH inner circle, thus able to retain his job despite his likely well-known relationship with Broadwell. He screwed up again when he underestimated the cost, and the politics of the Chicago thugs. His ego got the best of him.

I’m inclined to agree with Rush, downplaying anything honorable from Petraeus. Skirting perjury charges is dilemma.

"Petraues screwed up when he thought he was on the inside of the WH inner circle, thus able to retain his job despite his likely well-known relationship with Broadwell." They assured/promised him that! "the politics of the Chicago thugs." moan... "I’m inclined to agree with Rush, downplaying anything honorable from Petraeus. Skirting perjury charges is dilemma." Flying about on both ends of that question. I am hoping he got a Benghazi bellyful. Perjury charges. Where is the perjury jeopardy? He hasn't testified under oath yet?
