“The problem with pets is often they are reprimanded against barking or growling at anyone in your home, so unless they are trained, they aren’t likely to do anything to anyone once they’ve entered the home IMHO.”

My dogs, two shelties, continue barking until I tell them NO BARK. When they bark, whether it be thunder, or a package left on porch with bell being run, or whatever, they usually will not stop until I get up, go look and tell them it is ok and good little guard dogs. :)

That said, I hope I never have to find out. I spend a lot of time at home alone these days, I’m a SAHM, so I love having them and they give me a bit of a sense of security, not as much as my various guns do, but again, hope I don’t have to use them. I will though.
