See my Above Post 111.

As long as he has an "R" by his name, that is all that counts, Socialism is okay when Mitt does it.

Principles!?!?

Meh!

I wanted to beat Ann Coulter the other day with my Clue Stick when she was on Glenn Beck's Radio program, lamenting Goldwater's "Principled Stance" on opposing the 1964 Civil Rights acts, which cost him the election!

Oh Well, we got NIXON out of that deal and as we all know Richard Nixon was the best thing to ever happen to either us or the Republican Party.

With the EPA.

Wage and Price Controls.

Watergate

etc etc

From what I've heard, she's either lying or stupid when she speaks of Goldwater's stance on the civil rights act. The reality is that Goldwater was probably OK with civil rights act until it became infected with crap that began to target private businesses and other personal rights.

Actually some very interesting stuff on Goldwater and his well known (at the time) honest support of minority causes.

My personal opinion is that Goldwater actually supported a certain degree of limited affirmative action to break the old cycles. The civil rights act enshrined that in the constitution for all times and has been a disaster for every last one of us.
