Agreed.
Romney (never) had the support Palin did. Never.
Palin would lead. Palin had it all.
Bingo - Sarah has better political instincts than most of these GOP-E idiots
It wasn’t her time. Whoever got elected was going to be the captain of the Titanic .... the ship of state has already hit the iceberg. Romney would have slowed, but not stopped it. We’re going to sink pretty fast with Obama walking around in his Captain hat, sipping cocktails while the band plays and abandoning the helm. He’ll throw women, kids and the elderly overboard so he can have the rowboat for himself & his corrupt cronies. That being said .....
Sarah is being called to something bigger, what I do not know .... maybe ‘the Resistance’, maybe to lead the country back in 4 or 8 years. The country will need a charismatic leader, one with strong faith & principles ... Sarah has those qualitities. She’ll step up when she gets ‘the call’ from a higher power and when the people of the country are ready to return to God and the Constitution (if ever).
That and what she posted on FB today that the lamestream media bell is hard to unring. She cannot win a national election. She is electric and the ions are all wrong. 80% of the public thinks that she got D's in world geography...all due to Tina f'ing Fey.
2008 Obama/Biden 69,456,897
2008 McCain/Palin 59,934,814
2012 Obama/Biden 58,702,702
Looks like McCain/Palin ran 4 years too early.
Obama/Biden got 10.7 Million fewer votes yesterday than they got in 2008 and still won.
You know, I’m still not sure who stabbed her in the back time after time back in 08. My guess was always someone attached to Romney. If true, and that moron is still around, the genius certainly didn’t do very well this time did he/she? Wasn’t it the people inside the McCain campaign that constantly nagged and b*thced Sarah didn’t follow the rules?
The first thing I noticed was the old McCain and Palin pulled more voters. That is somewhat hard to believe given the fact Zero has us on this nightmare train.
This election really was a vote for free stuff. I was just reading up on sequestration again. God help us.
Why in the world would she stand up for the GOP?
There is no way in hell the GOP would or ever will stand up for her. They’d sooner stab her in the back.
And Palin knows it. It was not a mistake for her not to run under the GOP banner.
The gop turned their backs to conservatives, and chose to lick the boots and side with the leftists for personal gain. A lot of people, including the gop cheerleaders here on FR, were perfectly willing to throw Palin and the conservatives to the wolves to gain false security. So where does that leave us? Not in a good place unfortunately.
The 47% comment comming from Romney’s own mouth amplified the lefts label of Romney as the rich out of touch white guy 100 fold.
Evangelical or Christian Conservatives refused to come out and vote for a Mormon. That’s all there is to it. Billy Graham tried to convince them at the last minute because there was so much at stake. For the most part, even with manufactured press releases saying otherwise, they stayed home, voted for unknown candidates, or themselves, or any variety of other candidates. Ask many of our own FReepers what they did. Sarah had the Christian Conservative block firmly in her corner when she was with McCain. It’s an important, powerful block. Otherwise McCain probably records the lowest turnout in history. I don’t think the two campaigns can be compared except for presence of or absence of the Christian conservative voting block. It chose Obama rather than voting for a Mormon. I’m pretty sure the Christian Conservative movement will soon make a decision to form its own party or will demand the controlling interest in one of the major parties. That will be good for everyone.
It wasn’t her time. Whoever got elected was going to be the captain of the Titanic ....
This was the only bright spot of the whole mess. It’s going
To collapse and it Romney was at the helm the left would crucify him and all the Repubs.
The party that gave us this mess will be in charge when it goes down. They own it Let them get the credit they deserve. There is no money left.
The charade can’t go on. You can’t move people out of unemployment into SSI/welfare and survive.
The sharecroppers in the big government, inner city plantations, are about to have their Maasa’s lose the farm
It will be ugly
Evangelical or Christian Conservatives refused to come out and vote for a Mormon.
Correct. I have many Born again friends who see it as a cult and refused to take part.
I’m sure once the numbers are crunched the evangelicals are going to be a big block that stayed home.
Sarah = me and my family and those we associate with - even in my little enclave of Italo American NYC.
Sarah was why i donated and went to PA for a week on my own dime in 2008 knowing the odds.
We need to go the route of Sarah, Freedom, Rand/Ron Paul, Leave me the F alone!, pro-freedom, movement.
RINOísm needs to go away!
1. Not enforcing immigration laws allowed our country's culture to be co-opted by Latin and Central America illegals and their brand of social justice. They know the role of government is to take care of them.
2. Our own decadent culture has melded with the Latin/Central American socialist culture corrupting their formerly strict Catholic beliefs. Most of them now believe Gay marriage and abortion are OK.
3. Younger Latinos and Blacks see us as uncaring, because we want them to work and earn what they have. Problem is, they don't care about work ethic, unemployment statistics, or personal responsibility. If they don't have something you have, they expect the government to give it to them by taking it from us (taxpayers).
Conclusion: Reconquista is on...mob rule could potentially keep the Democrats in the White House for decades to come and virtually eliminate the Republican party or any other challengers, in time.
Imagine the Democrat party is the only party and Obama is President for life...food for thought.
It may be that 2016 is what she was thinking of all the time. If so, I’m cool with that.
National Presidential popular vote totals
November 5th, 2008 · written by paulie cannoli · 7 Comments
From CNN, by way of Ballot Access News, with 97% of the vote counted:
Obama
63,086,600
52%
McCain
55,848,864
46%
Romney/Ryan have surpassed the day after count from four years ago. Obama/Biden have not. The numbers will likely increase by millions for both in the next few weeks.
Sarah Palin is what made me excited about voting McCain/Palin. I was hoping she would run this year or will run in four years, but I'm not hopeful that she will, or would be successful due to media treatment.
Maybe our long term goal should be to infiltrate the MSM!
I sometimes think that the black/hispanic gimme-gimme attitude is probably the default human mindset, and that American Conservatism was probably one of those shooting stars through the featureless void of space. We think self control and having a work ethic is normal. I suspect we are the unusual ones... there’s more coal than diamonds.
I just did a quick lookup of the Obama vs McCain popular vote as compared to the Obama vs Romney Popular vote and here is what I see:
Election 2008
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2008
2008: Obama: 69,456,897 McCain: 59,934,814
TOTAL VOTES CAST: 129,391,711
Obama Victory Margin: 52.9% to 45.7% (9,522,083 votes)
Obama: 365 EV McCain: 173 EV

2012: Obama: 60,652,149 Romney: 57,810,390
TOTAL VOTES CAST: 118,462,539 (2,841,759 votes)
Obama Victory Margin: 51.2% to 48.8%
Assuming Obama takes Florida (which as of this writing is still uncalled)...
Obama: 332 EV Romney: 206 EV

What I find interesting are the following:
1) There were more people who voted in 2008 compared to 2012.
2) McCain got MORE votes in 2008 than Romney in 2012. In fact, McCain got 2,124,424 MORE VOTES than Romney !!
QUESTION : WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE 2,124,424 McCAIN VOTES IN 2012?
3) Obama LOST OVER 8,804,748 Votes in 2012 compared to 2008!!
QUESTION: What happened to those 8,804,748 voters? Did they stay home?
I can only conclude the following, based on the above observations:
* There was LESS ENTHUSIASM by Americans to vote in 2012 than in 2008.
* Contrary to what we were led to believe by the GOP and what some FReepers claim they saw on the ground in their state, REPUBLICANS WERE NOT ENTHUSIASTIC TO VOTE THIS YEAR. In fact, I can see at least 2 Million of them staying home this year compared to 2008 based on the above numbers.
So much for the huge Get Out the Vote Effort, the huge, sellout crowds in Red Rocks Colorado and in Ohio...
* Even though Obama lost over 8 Million votes this year, most of those voters DID NOT switch to Romney, preferring to stay home ( I suspect many of these would be the disappointed youth of 2008 and the socially conservative blacks of 2008. The former still can’t find good jobs and the latter couldn’t vote for a gay marriage supporting candidate. However, they still could not vote for Romney. So, they stayed home ).
Also, I cannot help but conclude that a huge proportion of the GOP base STAYED HOME in 2012. Otherwise, where were the over 2 million votes that went to McCain in 2008?
This was a self-inflicted loss on the part of the Republicans.
The numbers absolutely lie if you compare 2008 final totals to 2012 totals with many uncounted votes.
