I posted this on another thread, but it seemed worthy of it's own thread, at least in my selfish mind...

Guerrilla warfare: Against the Obamanation.
I’m in. Add psychological warfare...spread the feeling of discontent, especially in the presence of obamanation supporters: descontent that he (O) isn’t doing as much for (us) as he promised. Subtly shift their thinking to ‘he isn’t giving me enough’. Use their laziness/greed against them. Do everything you can to stop the cash flow that they rely upon. Most of all...pray.
Please include me on your ping list.
Still driving the same cars for 12 years and have no debt. Cooking at home beats much of what can be bought in a restaurant anyway. Resurrecting old hobbies is also a nice way to stay occupied without spending much of anything.
ENEMEDIA...what a great word. I’m stealing it. I offer “obamanation” in return.
Interesting, thanks.
And I’m sure your kids are fortunate with both the rural upbringing and the home schooling.
I don't believe that, not at all. Jesus shows us that it is love that overcomes evil -- why do you think again and again the Christians are commanded in the New Testament to love? Didn't He say that's how people would know you were His? -- If those claiming to be Christian in this country even merely acted like Jesus*, the country would be transformed in a way that would make the current darkness/gloominess seem like a hiccup or a momentary "bad feeling."
* Note that Jesus wasn't a puny soft guy, as mush as the popular idea insists, he made a whip and drove the moneylenders out of the Temple. Likewise 'love' is not ooey-gooey "good-feelings" it's an action, you do love you're not in it.
It is called a refiner’s fire. We all go through it. You can look it up in the Bible.
Codependency is an illness.
Enabling people is an illness.
Healthy people are going to seek healing for themselves, over giving enabling.
Sell it to me.
Unfortunately, the basic quality of "durable" manufactured devices is often not of a nature today that warrants the economics of "fixing," especially when you have to replace a whole a component or assembly. I have found out that you need to examine each instance for its merits.
Sometimes the obscene cost of parts/labor or taking up your precious time are simply not effective. In addition, often "making do" or "doing without" are not justifiable, either. Through the years I've tried them all, and throwing away/replacing worn-down or worn-out stuff is usually the better approach.
Like-new second-hand replacements can be a good result, too.
Thank you. I had heard of this, but never took the time to look into it.
We think so.
Glenn is doing a great service to this country by supporting the truth and small business (he has a small business marketplace on TheBlaze). It's free on Dish 212, for a few more weeks, or online.
This was said earlier, but Ill repeat it...get your children OUT of public schools.
Glenn's BlazeTV has a program called "Liberty Treehouse" that is excellent at teaching real history and values in a fun and interesting way. I enjoy watching it and my kids are grown.
Seriously?
OK.
It`s 6.5 nicely buildable, aspen-filled, R-3 zoned acres in Divide, CO, about 35 miles from Colorado Springs. I`ll link you to an image. Looking to get $65K. More info to follow.
“Jesus shows us that it is love that overcomes evil “
How’s that “love” working out for you in this election? You got your ass handed to you.
You contradict yourself. On one hand “love” triumphs, however, you then claim Jesus used physical force to drive out the moneylenders. Trust me on this, love isn’t going to get you anything but dead in a liberal world. I value life so I won’t be counting on love to keep me safe.

You completely misunderstand; it was not that Jesus didn't love the monylenders (he died for them too) but that he loves God, both foremost and perfectly. -- It's the difference between 'nice' ("oh, just leave them alone, you don't want to upset them") and 'kindness' ("they're defiling the temple, this sort of thing will only lead them and others to dishonor God -- that is unacceptable").
Trust me on this, love isnt going to get you anything but dead in a liberal world. I value life so I wont be counting on love to keep me safe.
I'm not talking about the hippy "good-vibes man" 'love', I'm talking about real love. That you are so dismissive of love only indicates to me that you have never really been loved (and that is an indictment of the people in the Church, not you).
This is partially true. I’ve noticed, for example, that the repair cost on the mini-split air conditioner I have in the garage is almost as much as a replacement unit.
Solution: I’m calling in a friend of a friend who does HVAC work to see if we can fix it ourselves.
The same holds true on things like push-mowers, weed-whackers, and even some home electronics. It’s just cheaper to replace altogether. Crazy, right? In the event that you can’t fix the item, the second-hand replacements you mentioned are the next best option.
Right now we need to choke off the “useless eaters” in society. The only way to do that is to choke off the gubbermint which gives them handouts. The only way to do that is to reduce your economic activity as much as possible so they have less to tax. The idea behind the post is to reduce your economic activity without resorting to the obvious, truly-Galt way of quitting your job.
Absolutely serious. I’ve lived in Colorado before and loved it (although that was on the Western Slope 30 years ago).
