Interesting factoid:

Here in Kentucky, a barrel for aging bourbon can only be used once. One of the uses for these barrels afterwards is to be shipped to the UK to be used for aging scotch.

We also have a couple of micro breweries that age stout and ale in the barrels. Makes for a really interesting beer. Wonderful finish.

That’s true! We toured a scotch distillery in Scotland and the used barrels make a big difference in the taste of the scotch.

Personally, scotch is just yucky but hubby is a big fan.
