It is threaded right into the tank? I forget if the petcock has two mounting bolts like a motorcycle or threads in. Have to look at a diagram (generator isn’t here at my house).

I normally screw a hose fitting into the tank, go from the hose to the valve, from the valve to an in line filter, than to the carb with another hose.
May have to improvise a little to mount the valve, but like to mount them solid on something.
Have used U-Bolts and even small hose clamps.

Forgot a step, from the valve to another piece of fuel line hose, than to the filter.
Makes it easier to change out the filter with hose on both ends.
Spare in line filter is good to have also.
