The residents of Staten Island are pleading for help from elected officials, begging for gasoline, food and clothing three days after Sandy slammed the New York City borough.
Were going to die! Were going to freeze! We got 90-year-old people! Donna Solli told visiting officials. You dont understand. You gotta get your trucks down here on the corner now. Its been three days!
Staten Island was one of the hardest-hit communities in New York City. More than 80,000 residents are still without power. Many are homeless, and at least 19 people died on Staten Island because of the storm. One of the devastated neighborhoods was overwhelmed by a violent surge of water. Residents described a super-sized wave as high as 20 feet, with water rushing into the streets like rapids.
Staten Island resident Mike Abuzzios home is completely gone, with only his floor boards remaining. He, his wife and their two young daughters have been staying with relatives.
My youngest daughter yesterday said, Daddy, I want to go, Abuzzio told ABC News. I told her, Its going to be awhile, hon. She doesnt understand. Shes 6.

“We’re all going to die! We’re all going to die!” - George Constanza
Food & clothing. Just what Mitt was sending out ... to media & MSNBC derision!
As long as the communists are in charge in DC, they will be blaming the victims.
If you provided free housing you could not get me to live in New York City or any major US city
I think I’m more prepared than most, with water, food, batteries. But if a 20 foot wave came through and washed it all away I’d be SOL.
Some people only have one home , no money for hotels, no family to stay with.
It makes preparing easier when your SOL. You just gotta rough it.
I can get on a plane and visit family
but I choose to rough it a bit to have my own place and happier for it.
Anyone that can’t survive 3 days withoug government assitance doesn’t deserve to live!!!

On December 9, 2009, DOT received a disciplinary complaint alleging that an on- duty physical assault occurred between Solli and another DOT employee. On December 10, 2009, DOT interviewed a Supervisor Highway Repairer who witnessed the physical altercation. After concluding its investigation, on March 23, 2010, DOT charged both Solli and the other employee involved in the incident. On March 23, 2010, DOT served Solli with charges stating that she engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with, and spoke discourteously to, another employee in violation of DOTs Code of Conduct (Code). In pertinent part, the charges against Solli were as follows:

The Lady who said “we’re Gonna Die... We’ve Got 90 year old People Down Here...” Was screaming that at Chucky Schumer as he wore his FEMA jacket. I loved it! (it was o Nightine)
Ever hear of this thing called a Generator?
My brother lives oceanfront, in a 2nd floor apartment. I haven't heard from him since before the storm hit. He said he was prepared with food, water, batteries, and such ... but no one could prepare for the massive waves that hit.
The Red Cross and FEMA have been invisible. It's a bad sign when Occupy Wall Street and a Sikh group from Queens are doing a better job at distributing hot food than the largest international relief group in the world. Another group brought a truckload of gloves which will be appreciated when the temps dip to almost freezing this weekend.
I don't think it's safe to run a generator inside an apartment ... even if you could get gas. I know in the Rockaways, you can't.
In other parts of the City, where there is power, there is a 10 gallon limit.
Sounds like Bronco Bama hates white people.
Benghazi - Line up the Coffins, make a statement, go to Vegas.
Sandy - Walk around the destruction, make a statement, go to Vegas.
Wherever there is pain and suffering, there is always a trip to Vegas to make Obama feel better.
Maybe they can duct tape pieces of boardwalk railing together and make an exhaust pipe!
