This article boils my blood.

I read it to my daughter, 15, last night. I told her pretty much what I posted. She then said, "Would you not talk to me if I were a liberal?"

I said, I would still talk to her but our relationship would be very strained because I really could not have any respect for her and honestly I would question her bravery in the face of standing up to what is right against the left or her mental stability. That is honestly how I would feel. My kids have a very solid understanding of who the left is, the history and the misery it brings. I said you don't have to mirror my beliefs but there are many choices other than the destructive cult of the left that can only bring you unhappiness.

The thing with leftists is that they insist on politicizing everything. The left is the origin of the belief that everything is political. This daughter flaunted her politics in her mother's face from the start, when her mother was at least willing to let sleeping dogs lie. Leftists get in your face, antagonise, and then if you finally take the bait and react, they're off to the races on you. Then they'll turn around and disingenuously talk about how conservatives don't want a “civil discourse” when they were itching for a fight all along. Their message is not persuasive of itself, so they must make opportunities to browbeat people into listening and/or agreeing. Leftism is tyranny.
