Parental weakness when the kids were toddlers.

Too bad the clock can’t be turned back to give the parents another chance to pound the slobbers out of the little cherubs.

Parents can only do so much. Kids are mostly influenced by their friends in school, not their parents or the Sunday sermon. The most important thing parents can do is to send their kids to good schools where everyone is on board with moral values.

Teach a child the way it should go and it will not depart from it.

Same training works for dogs. Ya gotta start early, or be really harsh if you start late.
