take a look at Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac for running Windows apps on a Mac.

I run Parallels on my MacBook Pro and run Windows XP, Office, etc. in virtual mode when I have to. Never have bought any anti-virus. When I have a choice I always go to the Mac side, as it is much faster, Safari is better, and it always works.
