Romeny made a point that the Navy needs more ships, that is has fewer ships than in 1918 (or some long ago year). Obama then stated that we also have fewer horses and bayonets than back then.
Then he went on a condescending rant about how we have ships where airplanes can land called “air craft carriers” and ships that go under water called “submarines.”
It was classic Obama talking down.
Romney did make a mistake by going so back in history, but Obama really made an ass of himself.

I think it was a calculated move, going back to 1917, because we won that WW BY USING SUBMARINES! You know, the ships that go under the water? He should have been slapped for that condescension. Also, how can we be a force in the Pacific without enough ships. And does ozero realize that aircraft carriers ARE ships? And that Marines still use bayonets?
