I observe this — All Windows Product that end with EVEN numbers fail. Those that end with Odd Numbers succeed.

Windows 95 — Success. (Actually Windows 3)

Windows ME (Actually Windows 4 )

Windows XP ( Actually Windows 5 )

Windows Vista (Actually Windows 6 ) -— Fail

Windows 7 ( Huge success )

Will Windows 8 break the “even number” curse? WE SHALL SEE.

I’ll wait for everyone to play around with it and work out all the bugs before I buy.

I almost agree. I started using Vista from the beginning both at work and at home. Still running it on several laptops at home. I used Vista as a power user (databases, development, online teaching) and have had few if any problems. I still run Win XP pro on one desktop and have no problems with Win 7.

I have not had much to do with Win 8 yet but it was built with the tablets and touch screen technologies in mind. It seems like it will be best used with those types of platforms.

I will be waiting like you for the bugs to be worked out but I would like to see/get my hands on one to try out. One of my sons and his wife may be getting one and I’ll see them at Thanksgiving so I may have that chance. Looks cool and it may be the one tablet with enough functionality to be useful for me. My wife has a blingy, overpriced iPad3 which she loves but has to admit doesn’t support a lot of the things she would like to do so she has to go back to her NetBook. She now ignores me when she has an iPad problem and I tell her to get a real computer if she wants to have that functionality.
