Sad to say, in the past the Rooneys would not have tolerated this felonious behavior.
I don't know about that. The Rooneys covered up for Ernie Holmes' incident pretty well in 1973. He then went on to win 2 Super Bowl rings as part of their famed Steel Curtain front four before eating himself out of the league.
Shooting at police helicopters? Ok.
Showing up for training camp overweight? Unacceptable.

Rooneys have a rather 'interesting' history. They have INCREDIBLE control over their PR. They are well connected.
They are not saints and their team follows its owners.
Ambassador Dan Rooney and Patricia Rooney, President Barack Obama, President Mary McAleese, her husband Dr. Martin McAleese and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Dan Rooney was well paid for his support of Obama.
