Where there citrus fruits in Europe at that time?
I thought the explorers brought them back from China, much later.
If there are citrus, then I get to bring something else.

I was curious after your post, so I looked it up.
Apparently, the Mediterranean ares, southern Europe and north Africa had a sort of citrus fruit they called citron around 100AD.

It wasn't until around 1490AD, that citrus was widely available in the greater European areas.

So if I get plunked down in southerner Italy, no problem, in northern Great Britain, I need vitamin C and a coat.
