I’m over 50, so I’ll give a high level summary:
Iranians held our people hostage for a long time.
Carter could not get them released. That is, Carter, Potus of the USA, could not get them released.
Reagan was elected, and the Iranians released the hostages on inauguration day.
Peace through strength, in case that needs explanation.
Obama is like Carter; inept, naive, weak, indecisive, etc.
The timing of the movie is likely coincidence.
Played skillfully by Romney/Ryan it could have positive impact.
Hello, I’m 54, myself; I remember it like you. For some reason, the split screen image on TV of President Reagan lifting his hand from The Bible about the same time as a plane load of Americans lifted off in Tehran, is burned brightly in my mind. Thanks.
